What’s a movie or book that inspired you to travel?
There are a lot of movies such as Zindagi na milegi dobara, Into the wild, Eat-pray-love, etc that I have watched. There is also Baby’s day out 😁 And the legendary movie “The Lion King” whose lore the Hakuna Matata I murmur while travelling with friends often.
Seven Years in Tibet is a Brad Pitt classic that takes the approach of a man travelling not by choice, but through survival. Its cinematography makes you re-connect with our own emotions when we travel via villages, where life is slow but rich, purposeful, and poor but happy. Pitt meets a young boy who later becomes the holy Dalai Lama or greatest saint of Tibetan people. And their interactions reverberate with my interactions with young minds who want to know more about the world beyond their village or closest town. The slowness but presence of the movie can make anyone brave to walk the world without destiny. As the Dalai Lama teaches, we are masters of our own destiny.
